Social media helps reunite 5 year old cancer patient with his beloved teddy bear

A young child battling brain cancer is being reunited with his lost teddy bear — all thanks to the power of social media.

Aiden Remme, 5, lost his beloved bear, Tedz, during a recent trip to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. According to his mother, Aiden was here completing his 60th round of chemotherapy treatment.

Once the family realized Tedz was missing, they tried calling the hospital and several businesses — but with no luck. Out of options, Aiden’s mother, Tracy, decided to try a different approach.

She made a post to Facebook asking for the Rochester community’s help in locating Tedz: “… this is more than a teddy bear, it has been with him through every appointment and every scan and surgery,” she wrote. “This teddy means the world to him … if anyone may have seen it please let us know!”

The post was shared more than 1,000 times. And by Wednesday morning, Tedz had been located in the St. Marys Chapel. Volunteers are now in the process of returning Tedz to Aiden.

“I can’t believe it worked!” Tracy wrote to Facebook.
